Stayed for a week on a ladies' trip. I LOVE this place. If I could rate 4.5 stars, I would but we had some minor issues - they were dealt with promptly and professionally by staff and are not worth mentioning. What I did love was how private this complex is and how spoiled I felt staying here! We stayed on the top floor (unit 417) and accessed our condo by walking to the very far side of the beautiful, shaded courtyard. The only other condos accessing the stairs up to our condo were the 3 condos beneath ours. And it was difficult to see the other stairs / how other people accessed their condos, but that was the beauty of the privacy, for sure. Our unit was well equipped for our needs. In addion to being on the top floor, we had a private roof top patio with hot tub and it really made for an ideal space for us ladies to kick back, sunbathe, or sit in the shade beneath the palapa. The hot tub was clean, but had been overworked by the guests before us, so was difficult to read the buttons. It was rarely hot, which was fine by us. I'd be thrilled to return! Some hot tips - ice is available at the front desk. The front desk is located at one of the sister hotels, less than a block away. Use the condo phone to call the front desk. And I highly recommend El Gobernador restaurant on the same store/corner of the block - recommended for food, service and cocktails.
Rooms and service were lovely. But beware: many of the pictures (in particular the ones of a large, open pool area with blue tile) are not of Maya Villa, but a neighboring sister property that you will not have access to. You will have access to the smaller, green tiled pool that is entirely shaded. Also, it is no fault of the hotel, but there isn't much of a beach to access nearby. The beachfront are all taken up by other private properties.
Great location, love the atmosphere. I like the jungle vegetation look . Pool is not as big . But they give you an option to go to the taj as a second option. Happy with location near the 5th Avenue. But calm and collective.
Words can’t explain how enjoyable & well spent our time here was. My wife visited in 2018 for our honeymoon and were happy to get back and see the place still well kept with great improvements!!! It comes fully decked out with a kitchen, pool and jacuzzi downstairs + another pool by the beach!!! The office opened 24 hours which made it super convenient if we ever needed help or just to change our beach towels and get fresh ones! The view from the roof overlooking Cozumel is very nice too! We recommend this place for couples, friends, families & even singles to enjoy a nice and quiet neighborhood just a stone throw from 5th Avenue! I almost forgot to mention the spa downstairs, very lovely service with competitive prices! If you’re looking somewhere to stay within Playa Del Carmen, look no further- this place has everything you’re looking for to make you feel at home away from home!
Great base for our 12-day stay. Centrally located between Cancun, Cozumel, and Tulum, easy for dagtrips. Right next to the shopping, food, and party epicenter, easy for evening strolls. Jacuzzi and pool which we seemed to have to ourselves lost of the time, lovely for unwinding at the end of the day. Underground parking space kept our car safe and free from parking tickets. Rooms were clean, spacious, and the beds were comfy. The interior was perhaps a bit outdated but we visited Mexico and only used the room to sleep. Would definitely stay again as a family.
This place was great. Somewhere between a hotel and an Airbnb. Gorgeous pool and hot tub in the courtyard and some of the units have a private jacuzzi (although not all of them work). There's a parking garage for free, walking distance to the beach and the hub. Filtered water (and no problems from anyone drinking it at all). And very nice staff. We definitely will be coming back to this very spot! Very much recommend!!

Perfect value/price ratio. Property is perfectly maintained and the staff is superb. Everything is the same as on pictures. We prolonged our stay multiple times. Better to stay here than in el taj..trust me
